崔志明当年决定赌一把大的，赢了，老婆孩子下半生有着落，输了，就自己担当，他没想到自己居然真的输了，于是去找郝东郎商量，让他配合自己骗保。骗保成功后，崔志明知道那些钱到了麻红梅手上后，还去他的赌债，还有些盈余，对她们的生活放了心。崔善去白阳市学习舞蹈那天，崔志明就躲在电话亭里，目送麻红梅和崔善提着行李上车。崔志明特意给崔善点了一首《天鹅湖》，还留下一句话，鼓励崔善迎接新的生活。崔志明担心留在家乡会让人认出来，便去了南方，重操旧业，干起木匠活，抱着“好死不如赖活着”的心态，日子一天天过了下来。崔志明一个人孤独久了，便想念当初一家三口的美好日子，于是回到白阳市，与郝东郎联系上，这才得知麻红梅坐牢，崔善一个人在学校里。崔志明赶上了制作模特的风口，从中赚到不少钱，于是他让郝东郎给麻红梅送吃的，给崔善送钱。等崔善毕业后，崔志明便跟着崔善到了海港市，一直偷偷地躲在暗处保护崔善。警局里召开小组专项会议，陆萧在会上语出惊人地表示，他找到水鬼了。
