曹丕与曹植都坦言喜欢甄宓，协议公平竞争。崔芣对曹丕再三告诫她不要欺负甄宓，感不忿，推测他钟情甄宓，向卞夫人告状。卞夫人大怒，说不容甄宓??摹銈a及两子，装病要胁曹丕兄弟不准见甄宓，两兄弟看穿她的心事。曹操心爱的马鞍破损，胡库理怕受罚上吊自杀，曹植巧思妙计令曹操不动刑罚。宓与嬛遭一难民抢劫，郭嬛奋力抵抗受伤，幸曹彰路过退贼。 曹操、曹丕及曹植均赶往探望甄宓，曹操怒说要赶难民离开邺城，甄宓求情，荀或也指驱赶难民影响民心，曹丕即提议将难民征召做民夫，帮助筑玄武池，杨修赞赏，曹操勉强说好，但当曹植再提议将女难民做厨娘及养蚕取丝，即大赞他有见地，曹丕心酸。甄宓指曹丕面冷心善，曹丕即说有她这一句话，可补偿别人冷待他。曹彰来探郭嬛，赞她爽朗豪迈，甄宓突然说凶徒似想毁其容多于劫财。 曹丕凭郭嬛提供的线索捉到凶徒，主谋竟是卞夫人的陪嫁妇辛大姑。曹丕与曹植向卞夫人要人，反遭她施压将事件隐瞒。曹操从如夫人的婢女杜鹃口中得悉此事，亲自审问辛大姑，卞夫人为她求情不果，请曹操将二人一同治罪，曹操大怒，曹丕三兄弟跪地请求他网开一面，曹操拒绝。此时甄宓赶至求情，曹操赞她以德报怨，只杖责辛大姑三十大板，卞见状更恨甄宓。
