穆耳以忙于批阅奏摺为由，冷落阔真。丽君等四人于农庄借宿一宵，丽君硬要抢荣兰祈福香囊来看，不料香囊竟是燕玉的，丽君得知她的心意后，大怒，及后见她入少华房及送新鞋给他，醋意大发。 阔真发现穆耳一见自己出现即收起古琴，并搬出奏摺来批阅，阔真为了不知如何讨好他而沮丧。 众人抵达沧州，燕玉留下来看守行李，不料竟遇上奎璧，奎璧硬拉她走并说要将她卖到妓院，幸好丽君与少华及时回来。丽君见少华因燕玉再次放走奎璧，气愤。士元见沧州府师爷下棋，技痒，子儒与勇娥替他找棋艺高手时，重遇丽君与荣兰，四人高兴地往衙门会合士元，可惜胡县尹因怕被人夺功，已带士元及孟母往大都。 阔真感染风寒，三天后穆耳始发现，前往慰问，阔真要求他留下来，不果。丽君等到大都得悉可汗驾崩，担心士元不能以治病来将功补过。近东知可汗驾崩，决定带帝昺上大都伺机行事。奎璧到大都找刘捷，欲先发制人告燕玉状。胡县尹得悉密旨取消，飞黄腾达无望，大感沮丧时遇刘捷，刘捷知士元在大都，暗喜。丽君等打算找士元于大都的富商好友郦若山求助，不料原来若山已被朝廷抄家。胡县尹声称带士元替要人诊症，士元为了妻子乘机向他提出下月到醉仙楼的要求。
